Dazzle Dry Nail Polish - First Impressions

Wednesday 19 March 2014

Hello Everyone :-)

I am road testing a new product this week. Dazzle Dry Nail Lacquer.

This is a quick drying nail polish that is 'Wet to WOW' in five minutes, and it definitely delivers.

You get a little kit with a nail prep, base coat and top coat and then individual nail polishes and sets of polishes in cute boxes.  There is a great range of gorgeous colours to choose from ranging from classics through to their jewel effect which are lovely glitter polishes.  The bottles are 15ml in size, as are the base and top coat.  The nail prep is a 30ml bottle.

Here I am using #395, Mango Mousee.  This is a gorgeous mid peach in colour and looks amazing on tanned hands.

This is a thick polish that dries very quickly.  I noticed with the first nail I did that I had applied it way to thin and as I was going over it to add more polish it was already drying so I removed the polish and started again.  My mistake as I am used to using CND Shellac and applying very thin coats to the nail.

My second attempt was much more successful.  I loaded the brush with more polish and got a much better result.  You don't need two coats with this polish as it's thick enough with just one coat but as this was my first time using it I did do a second coat but once I get used to it I will be using one coat only.  So the fact that you can get away with one coat and the bottle being 15ml, you really get great value for your money.

So, after performing a manicure, I cleaned the nail with the nail prep, added one coat of base coat.  You will notice that this is different to normal polish base coats, as it appears to absorb into the nail rather than sit on top.

Then I applied my two coats of Dazzle Dry Mango Mousse and followed with my top coat.

The nails were dry within the five minutes, as promised.

I told my client to go home and for the next five days go about her life as she normally would and not to wear gloves when doing housework.  I wanted to see how Dazzle Dry held up.

She came back to me yesterday and these are her nails after a full five days.  She's cleaned her house from top to bottom, wearing no gloves and using normal cleaning chemicals.

As you can see, Dazzle Dry has held up beautifully.  There is the normal regrowth and no chipping.  The only thing I could see was slight wearing at the ends of the nails and a bit of scratching of the polish from where she'd used a scouring pad.

I am really really impressed with Dazzle Dry and over the next few weeks I am going to be doing some nail art with it and I am also going to be trying it out for some stamping.

Dazzle Dry Classics retail for $9 USD.  Dazzle Dry Jewel Effects retail for $9.25 USD.

Base and top coat are $12.50 USD and there is also a mattifying top coat available.

I hope this helps you if you are thinking of purchasing Dazzle Dry.
