Spring Mani | Sharpie Art & Stamping

Hey everyone,

I've got a new and super easy nail art tutorial up on my YouTube channel using Sharpies (Bic Markers) and Gel Two with a little Magpie Beauty Dust in Connie thrown in for good measure.  Of course I've also stamped and I've used the gorgeous Uber Chic Beauty stamping plate 6-03 from the brand new set.  I have a separate review for the entire set also up on my channel.

I realise a lot of you are in Autumn, but in Australia we're in Spring!

The Sharpie art is so easy and you can create so many looks with it.  You can use it with regular nail polish too!

Rose Petal Sharpie Nail Art With Stamping

I recently discovered the B. Loves stamping plates and thought I'd give sharpie nail art and stamping a go.  I had a video all ready to go months ago but the footage seems to have grown legs and disappeared.  This one turned out better so all is good.

The B. Loves plates are lovely to use.  They're well etched, great designs and best of all, the right size!  Nothing worse than using stamping plates with tiny little images that will only fit a child's nails!

I hadn't intended the sharpie art to actually look like rose petals, that was a happy accident so I went with it.  I'd picked out my colour scheme and the plate that I wanted to use and when I saw it turning into rose petals I picked the rose stamp on plate B.02.

Sharpie Watercolour Nail Art Over Gel II

So the latest craze in easy nail art seems to be using permanent markers (sharpies) and alcohol to create a watercolour (water marbling) design.

I was asked to do a tutorial to show how to achieve this look so here it is!

I've used Gel II in Extreme Arctic White for the red and pink nails, the new Peppermint Pony from Gel II's Spring 2015 Carousel collection for the green nail and obviously Frou Frou Blue for the blue nail, as shown in the video.

This is a pretty fool-proof technique and you can achieve some beautiful effects.
