Crystal Pixies | Review & Application

I've got a new video up on my YouTube channel featuring two Swarovski Crystal Pixies that were very kindly sent to me by Tracey from Touched By Colour.

Tracey is an Australian authorised reseller of Swarovski products.

The Crystal Pixie comes in eight colours - four of which have just been released in Australia.  I have Cute Mood and Rock Shock.

They are super easy to apply to the nails and make a gorgeous feature nail or all nails if you are so inclined.

I decided to do one nail of each colour and they applied really easily.  I applied the Crystal Pixie by lay down a thin layer of clear gel and then pouring the crystals into the wet gel, gently pressing them in and then curing in my LED lamp.

I then sealed the free edges just to prevent any loss of the stones or snagging.

They look lovely and are super sparkly.  The Cute Mood would be perfect for a bridal feature nail.

I've got an exciting new product to share with you today.

Magpie Beauty kindly sent me their brand new VIP Collection for review and O.M.G. they are just beautiful.  The VIP Collection launches at Beauty UK on 22nd and 23rd of May in Birmingham.  They will also be available to purchase online from 7.00pm on 23rd of May.

The four colours in the collection are:

Suzie - Light gold holographic

Peaches - Rose gold holographic

Tiffany - Turquoise holograpic

Millie - Pink holographic

The glitters differ slightly from others carried by Magpie Beauty.  The VIP Collection have different size particles, giving the glitter that extra bling!

The glitters are even more gorgeous in real life.  It's so hard to capture the sparkle in a photo or video, but trust me, you won't be disappointed with these beauties. 

The applicator brush is back in stock so go grab one if you've been waiting.  I tried the applicator brush for the first time today and I am replacing my old tatty brush immediately... in fact it's already been laid to rest in the rubbish bin.   

The applicator brush applies the glitters beautifully and I found it much easier than the old brush I had been using.  I'm going to have a go at applying pigments with it and I will report back soon.

MoYou London Glitter Swatches

I've got a new video up on my YouTube channel featuring some beautiful glitters from MoYou London.

I have seventeen out of a range of 22 glitters and they are lovely.  They pots are heavy glass with a screw off lid and a cap inside the lid for extra protection.  Each pot contains 5mls of fine grade glitter, with a few in larger hexagonal glitters and mylar pieces.

I found application over the tacky layer of gel polish extremely easy and the colour range is great.

Each glitter retails for £2.50 which I believe is a great price.

*** REQUESTED *** How To Apply Glitter Over Regular Polish

I've got a much requested video up on my YouTube channel showing how to apply glitter over regular nail polish.

I've used OPI and Rimmel London polishes and gorgeous glitters from Magpie Beauty.  They came out really well and it's easy to do, if a little messy!  

I've done three different methods and I really love how the Rimmel London matte polish turned out with glitter over the top!

A good tip, if you want to do glitter nails regularly, is to keep a top coat just for glitter work.  That way you won't get glitter in the top coat you use for regular manicures.

Magpie Beauty Glitter Review & Swatches

The lovely Sarah from Magpie Beauty approached me a few weeks ago to see if I would like to review her amazing glitters.  Of course I jumped at the chance.  I've done a full review and included swatches of all 23 glitters in the original collection and linked the video below.

Get excited!  The Birthday Bash is here.

This collection is three beautiful glitter gel polishes packed with pink, silver and holographic glitter of all different sizes and they are all stunning.

I was so excited about these, I even made cupcakes for my video intro, which my husband promptly ate as soon as I was finished with them :-/
