Magnificent Matte Nails

Tuesday 12 November 2013

Okay, so I've been using CND Shellac for about 18 months and whenever I've done matte nails before I've done two coats of CND Shellac top coat and lightly buffed off the second coat to leave a matte finish.

BUT recently I had been hearing that there are now matte top coats out for gel polish and not just regular polish.

My friend Olga is the Victorian rep for Indigo nail products and she told me that Indigo do a great matte top coat.  So I purchased some for around $14 and this is the result.

I've done two coats of CND Shellac in Lobster Roll and added the matte top coat and it's worked like a dream.  My client has had this on her nails for a week with no peeling, no lifting and no chipping!

So far so good!

The ring finger is one coat of CND Shellac in Silver Chrome, layered with two coats of the brand new colour Ice Vapor and I've finished it off with a rose stamp from Betina.

I wasn't sure how the matte effect would turn out on a brighter colour but it looks amazing and the photo does not do this justice at all.

I highly recommend getting a matte top coat if you are a professional nail tech!

If you are interested in purchasing a matte top coat from Indigo you can contact Olga.  I believe that the top coat comes in two different sizes.  I got the 5ml bottle and I think there is a larger bottle.
