L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation Review

Wednesday, 13 April 2016

I've got a review of the new L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation up on my YouTube channel.

I've been testing out the foundation for about the last week and it's a knockout.  I rarely have 'holy grail' products, partly because I test so many products and partly because I'm super fussy.

The Nude Magique Cushion Foundation has taken its rightful place, along with a handful of other products, on my 'Shelf of Treasures'.

I have foundations that cost $20 right up to foundations that cost $120 and the Nude Magique Cushion blows half of the high-end foundations out of the water.

It's fabulous on my skin, leaving it glowy and youthful looking without caking up or making me look dry and dehydrated.

I also love the ease of use of this product.  Because of its compact design and handy applicator, you can just throw it in your bag and use it for touch-ups if needed during the day.

This was taken after several hours of wear (excuse the tongue poking out) and I love how it looks.  I am 44 and for my mature and dehydrated skin, this product is a huge winner.

I did match myself to shade 6 (Rose Beige) based on the other L'Oreal foundations I wear.  It will be my perfect winter shade, but right now with my remaining summer tan,  I could go a shade darker, or mix the two together.

My preferred way to apply the foundation is with a foundation brush - the Real Techniques Buffing Brush is my favourite - and I keep the sponge that comes with the foundation for on-the-go touch-ups.

For me, a foundation needs to last for about five hours as I rarely wear makeup for a whole day, and this product does it with ease.  I powder down my t-zone after application and don't reapply any powder during the day.  I find that towards the end of the wear, I am left looking glowing and hydrated.

This foundation retails in Australia for $29.95 and if you keep an eye out, Priceline often have specials so you can pick it up for a bargain.

If you are in the market for a new foundation, pop into a pharmacy and get colour-matched.  You won't be disappointed.

Enjoy,

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation | First Impressions

Hey everyone,

I've got a video up on my YouTube with my first impressions of the new Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation.  I chose the colour 200 - Soft Beige and it's a great match to my skin coming into Summer here in Australia.

I've also used the new Fix & Protect Primer, also from Rimmel London in this video.  I wasn't as impressed with the primer but I am going to give it another go as I had a really bad cold and dry skin when I filmed this.

I've found a new favourite red lippy in the Lasting Finish by Kate #107.  It's a gorgeous deep berry red that looks matte but feels beautiful and hydrating.

I gave the Rimmel London Super Curler 24hr Mascara a go for the first time and even though it's not waterproof, which I much prefer, this is a great mascara that gave me fluttery lashes with no spider eyes!

I used the Innoxa Cover & Correct Concealer Palette for the first time today as well and I need to play around with it a bit more to get used to the best way to apply but I'm really enjoying it so far.

I've attached all the products I used in the description bar below the video.

Enjoy,

Dixie Girlxox

Madam Glam Makeup Review & Application

Madam Glam Makeup Review & Application

Hey everyone,

The lovely ladies at Madam Glam sent me some of their cosmetic products to try out so I've done a 'first impressions' style application video.

I received a foundation, blush, mascara, eyeshadow and two lipsticks.

Since I recorded the video a few hours ago, I can report that the foundation is wearing really well and I haven't had to do any touch-ups.  I applied the makeup at 8.30 this morning and it's now 1.36pm and I have no shine, no creasing and no uneven wearing.

I should also mention that the foundation is probably a light to medium coverage that is easily build able to a medium to full coverage.

The lipstick has worn really nicely too.  It's quite a nice high shine so I was expecting it to wear off quite quickly but it's stayed even and there appears to be a stain to it too so I think if you did get wear from eating or drinking, the stain would stay so your lips still look good.

The blush is still really nice and so is the eyeshadow and mascara.  I quite often experience fallout from mascaras and the Madam Glam mascara is staying put.  I've got lovely fluttery eyelashes with no clumping and no panda eyes in sight.

Overall I am really happy with all the products, even though the eyeshadow isn't a colour I would normally choose.  I do however like how it's applied over the taupe colour I applied as a base.

A big thumbs up for all products and if you would like to purchase your own, here's a 30% discount code for the Madam Glam store.  DISCOUNT CODE: YT30OFF

I've added a list of products and prices in the description bar below the video if you are interested in the shades that I received.

Enjoy,
